The Academic Quality & Program Development department leads the development of new programs and maintains quality assurance of our current programs in collaboration with faculty and staff across the college to support NorQuest 2030, We Are Who We Include. Reporting to the Manager, Program Development, this one-year term Academic Development Specialist position supports the creation of innovative credit programming aligned with NorQuest’s Strategic Plan 2025. Working within the Academic Quality & Program Development team, this role assists in program development and guides the launch and implementation of new programs. Success in this position requires strong organizational, decision-making, and relationship-building skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Develop and launch new credit programs, providing guidance to faculty, staff, and subject matter experts.
- Maintain program development templates and tools to guide programs through approval
- Foster collaboration by communicating program processes and statuses, gathering feedback, and consulting with community, business, industry, and government partners.
- Work with internal stakeholders to plan and implement new program launches.
- Understand NorQuest’s program records on the Government of Alberta’s PAPRS, including creation, updates, and terminations.
- Prepare program proposals, FLE calculations, budgets, and suspension/termination proposals.
- Apply best practices and continuous improvement methods to ensure high-quality programming.
- Research feasibility of proposed programs, including career profiles, labour market demand, and competitor analysis.
- Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and events.
- Write reports and proposals.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- An undergraduate degree in a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment.
- Proven experience and success managing multi-disciplinary initiatives, preferably in an academic setting.
- Data collection and research experience and/or training would be preferred.
- Program development experience and/or training would be an asset.
- Experience and training in project management.

SALARY: $2,371 - $3,078 bi-weekly reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a 12 month term position with the possibility of extension and includes immediate access to vacation and illness.
