FACULTY OF HEALTH STUDIES
NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone dedicated to finding ways forward to join our Faculty of Health Studies team as an Administrative Assistant.
Reporting to the Administrative Support Team Lead - Business Operations, the Administrative Assistant role provides administrative and operational assistance on an as needed basis. This role must communicate directly with students, answering inquiries in a timely and professional manner. This role supports staff and faculty with activities following the NorQuest College policies and procedure manual, and as such, must have a strong understanding of business administration. This role may take on a variety of tasks depending on scheduling needs, current projects, and grant funding. This could include anything from occasional hours per month to project work in a full-time capacity for several months. Flexibility and availability are key attributes of this role.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Provide frontline support to students in a timely manner.
- Provide cover-off support for support staff.
- Problem solve and meet service standards.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a positive relationship building manner.
- Assist with electronic and paper records management.
- Complete ad-hoc room and audio-visual equipment bookings.
- Assist with curriculum updates using Moodle, templates, and spreadsheets.
- Support coordination of events such as professional development activities.
- Support the administration of surveys.
- Coordination of contract submissions.
- Prepare student orientation packages.
- Provide administrative support using office equipment, word processing tools, and databases.
- Create meeting minutes, agendas and supporting materials.
- Complete purchase order requests as needed.
- Prepare and distribute mail.
- Provide recommendations for improvements to administrative procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A Business or Administration degree is preferred. Consideration may be given to those with a Business or Administration Diploma, Administrative Professional Certificate and/or considerable relevant experience.
- Three to five years directly related experience in a post-secondary environment or similarly complex portfolio.
- Experience working with PeopleSoft and Moodle is required.

SALARY: $42,099 - $53,799 annually, reflective of what you bring AKA your experience and education. This is a fulltime term position, until September 30, 2025 with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
