Reporting to the Manager of Equity, the Anti-racism Lead is responsible for the implementation of the college’s strategic priorities to advance racial equity as stated in NorQuest 2030: We Are Who We Include. Main responsibilities of this role include developing and overseeing the development and implementation of the college’s Anti-Racism Roadmap; collaborating with internal stakeholders to launch a Racially Underrepresented Mentorship program for learners; utilizing best and emerging practices in Anti-racism, facilitating on-going collaboration with internal stakeholders across the college to strengthen and support the college’s commitment to advancing racial equity. This position will also be responsible for collaborating on other EDI initiatives coordinated by the Office of Equity. The outcome of this role will be to foster a racially equitable and anti-racist workplace and learning environment for learners, employees, clients and communities.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

Conducting Racial Equity Audits & Analyzing Data

Establishing a baseline through a racial equity audit.

Developing a process for tracking and measuring the college’s progress on racial equity.

Partnering with Institutional Research to analyze student services usage through a racial equity lens.

Analyzing student and employee demographic trends to identify and addressing racial inequities in:
-
Student lifecycle (application, admissions, graduation).
-
Employee lifecycle (application, hiring, promotion, termination).

Identifying & Addressing Systemic Racial Inequities
-
Mobilizing and translating student services usage data to identify and fill support gaps.
-
Combining internal metrics and external research to address racial inequities in:
-
Student engagement, recruitment, admissions, enrollment, graduation, career prep, and alumni outcomes.

Employee attraction, recruitment, onboarding, retention, career development, and separation.
-

Partnering across the College to assess racial equity concerns and systemic barriers.

Updating Policy & Decision-Making Frameworks
-
Leading the updating of the Anti-Racism Policy.
-
Assessing and reviewing Decision-Making Frameworks (e.g., SOC & SEM matrices) from an anti-racism perspective.

Identifying and addressing racial inequities in institutional decision-making processes.
-
Collaborating with Business Technology Services (BTS) to implement PeopleSoft customizations for demographic data collection.

Tracking & Reporting Racial Discrimination

Engaging BTS, People, OSJA, and the Safe Disclosure Office (SDO) to establish a process for tracking racial discrimination cases.

Combining internal discrimination data with external research to inform racial equity strategies.

Developing Education, Training & Capacity Building
-
Creating and implementing anti-racism training and education for non-academic employees.

Partnering with RHE-AR to integrate training into existing processes.

Developing training materials for internal delivery.

Providing Strategic Leadership & Collaboration
-
Co-chairing the college’s Equity Council alongside the EDI Lead.
-
Providing subject matter expertise on anti-racism and racial equity to senior leadership.
-
Building and maintaining a partnership with RHE-AR for ongoing equity initiatives.

Managing the Office of Equity’s Mentorship Program.

WHAT YOU BRING:
-
Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Political Science, History, Gender Studies, Adult Education, or a related field, supplemented by ongoing professional development in anti-racism and equity-related areas.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 3-5years of progressive experience in anti-racism and anti-oppression practice, including policy development, strategic planning, and implementation at an organization-wide level, preferably within large or complex organizations.

- Extensive nowledge of systemic racism, inequities, and discrimination, including their institutional and structural impacts.
- Strong understanding of race and racism, anti-oppression, decolonization, indigenization, and their intersections with institutional policies and social systems.

Ability to assess, analyze, and audit racial equity data and translate findings into actionable strategies.

Strong strategic planning experience, particularly in equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) initiatives.
- Proven experience in developing, delivering, and evaluating anti-racism training for employees at different levels.
- Strong skills in facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution, particularly in sensitive and high-impact discussions.
- Strong ability to influence, negotiate, and build consensus in complex and ambiguous environments.

Experience in consultation and collaboration with multiple stakeholders across different levels of an organization.

Experience in developing, guiding, and managing councils/committees focused on equity-related initiatives.
- Experience in project management, including the ability to develop, execute, and monitor anti-racism initiatives.
- Familiarity with policy development processes, reporting structures, and institutional governance related to racial equity.
SALARY: $87,095 - $112,166 annually, reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
