FACULTY OF HEALTH 

The Advanced Foot Care (AFC) Post-Diploma Certificate Program provides nurses with theoretical knowledge and skills assessment related to foot care protocols and procedures, records management, and business fundamentals. This is an Hourly Casual Instructor that plays a key role in supporting learners throughout their educational journey by providing remote guidance during asynchronous coursework and delivering in-person instruction and supervision during labs and clinical placements.

As part of the Faculty of Health, the AFC, Instructor promotes teaching excellence, learner success, and evidence-informed practice while supporting NorQuest's commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Indigenization. This role works closely with students, clinical partners, and fellow faculty members to ensure learners develop the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required for advanced foot care practice.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

• Provide guidance and instruction related to advanced foot care theory, clinical skills, and professional practice.
• Support learners throughout asynchronous online learning, in-person labs, and clinical placements.
• Deliver hands-on demonstrations and simulated clinical learning experiences that support skill development and competency assessment.
• Utilize a variety of instructional methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and enhance student comprehension.
• Foster a supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement, confidence, and success.
• Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices and professional standards in advanced foot care nursing.
• Utilize innovative teaching techniques to improve learning outcomes and learner readiness for practice.
• Engage effectively with students, clinical staff, and patients to support learning, collaboration, and professional growth.
• Develop and maintain strong professional relationships that contribute to a positive educational experience.
• Contribute to curriculum delivery, instructional development, and continuous improvement initiatives within the program.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Active nursing licensure in good standing with CLHA or CARNA with a specialization in advanced foot care.
• Advanced Foot Care Practice Authorization and specialization in Advanced Foot Care.
• Recent experience in advanced foot care nursing practice.
• Strong knowledge of advanced foot care protocols, procedures, and professional practice standards.
• Experience using learning management systems and instructional technologies is an asset.
• Teaching experience in a post-secondary environment and curriculum development experience are considered assets.

Compensation: This is an hourly casual role, and the pay rate is determined based upon qualifications met. An additional 11.2% is paid in lieu of benefits and vacation. This role falls under the NorQuest College Faculty Association. Please reference the NorQuest College Collective Agreement Appendix A to better understand how pay is determined.
