NorQuesters are difference makers, and we're searching for talented casual staff skilled in covering all casual vacancies: peak periods, vacations, illness leaves, resignations, and special projects. Are you looking for short-term, administrative work? Would you like the opportunity to demonstrate your abilities in a supportive, team-focused environment? You may take part in a variety of assignments and have the opportunity to work in several different departments providing basic to senior level administrative or customer service-related support. This competition will provide the division with a qualified pool of casual employees to meet emergent temporary staffing needs on an ongoing or temporary basis for on-campus work. 

 

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Provide information on NorQuest programs, procedures and policies.
  • Direct learners and College visitors based on their needs.
  • Stay up to date on NorQuest service departments and standards to provide clear communication to learners on next steps.
  • Book, cancel and reschedule appointments, or queue learners using established software systems.
  • Provide administrative assistance to other departments as needed.

 

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A post-secondary certificate in Administration or Business.
  • 1+ years of administrative experience, preferably within a post-secondary environment.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered as equivalency.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Word; some knowledge of Excel preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience in PeopleSoft would be considered an asset.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfortability working on a computer with some Outlook and PeopleSoft experience.
  • Ability to work well with a team and with our diverse student population both in-person and on the phones - switchboard experience would be helpful.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must show initiative and be able to excel with minimal supervision.

 
AUPE Band Level 4 | Representative II | $24.40/hour - $30.58/hour reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a casual position with the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE). This position is required in-person at out downtown Edmonton campus.
