NorQuest College is embarking upon a new initiative to establish credit programming in digital content creation. We are seeking a Program Creator to lead the development of the program under a six-month contract with the possibility of extension. You can play a visionary role in the development of a program that leads the future in how content is created and shared across industries.  

 

The incumbent will be responsible for leading and developing curriculum and program design, co-leading the program submission to Advanced Education, and liaising with industry partners as we move toward program launch.  

 

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

 

Lead New Program Development 

 

  • Act as project lead; manage project dates and timelines and support a proposal through internal new program development process in conjunction with the Program Development Office and related program areas. 
  • Develop business case (program canvas) for the new program, in conjunction with Program Development Office. Lead the development of the program proposal for submission to Advanced Education; write and edit program proposal final draft. 
  • Provide expert advice on program concept, program costing, tuition and fees, delivery modes, student outcomes, and enrolment planning for new program. Finalize the design and structure of the program, including the program’s learning outcomes and architecture.  

  

Management of Program Development and Delivery 

  

  • Champion and act as chief spokesperson for the new program. Lead program review, curriculum development and accreditation requirements to ensure programs are relevant, current, and sustainable.    

 

Departmental and College Planning  

  

  • Promote the benefits of and advocate for the needs of the program, including participation in the development of operational and financial plans 
  • Lead focus groups; determine market demand and requirements
  • Build practicum opportunities for students

  

Student Success 

  

  • Promote and support sound adult educational strategies and supports to remove barriers for applicants

 

Internal and External Liaison  

  

  • Interact with key partners including program advisory committees and external committees and taskforces

 

Educational Activities 

 

  • Promote and participate in teaching excellence and advocate for the needs of learners

  

WHAT YOU BRING :

 

  • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Journalism,   Communications, Broadcasting, Arts including Performing Arts, Digital Cinema, Marketing, or other related credential.
  • The ideal candidate is industry-focused and experienced with industry  connections in the Edmonton region.
  • Video and audio production and editing required; podcasting experience is considered an asset
  • On-camera experience considered an asset.

SALARY: Reflective of what you bring, AKA your education and experience plus 11.2% in lieu of vacation. As this is a Faculty role, the pay range is quite large. The Faculty Association agreement outlines how pay is determined.
