NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re looking for someone dedicated to finding ways forward to join our Faculty of Health Studies team at our Edmonton and Wetaskiwin campuses as Instructors in our Practical Nurse program.
Graduates of NorQuest College’s Practical Nurse program are also Difference Makers in terms of the health care that Albertans receive. Our students prepare for their clinical experiences with theory and hands-on learning in multiple modes of delivery, and we are proud of the varied and robust learning experiences in our programs. We utilize low and high-fidelity simulation to augment the learner experience, providing students with a safe learning environment to practice and reflect.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
- As a NorQuest Instructor, you will facilitate learning in in a variety of health care settings in Edmonton and surrounding area, so the ability to travel to these sites is a requirement.
- Instructors help our learners acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitude to be successful and safe practitioners within their scope of practice.
- This role works full time with students on campus in labs, theory, and or clinical practicum placements.
- The hours of work are full time and can vary.
- Lab and theory are offered weekdays and weekends, during days and evenings.
- Clinicals are scheduled Monday to Friday for four and eight-week increments and consist of alternating 1 week eight-hour day shifts and 1 week eight-hour evening shifts with weekends off.
- Alternatively, some clinicals are scheduled for 12-hour day shifts on the weekend.
- Clinicals would include long-term care, medicine, and surgery rotations.
- Responsibilities include planning and developing clinical assignments, supervising students, maintaining a facilitative and supportive learning environment, maintaining appropriate student records of attendance and performance, providing appropriate feedback to students on performance, notifying instructional coordinator of student concerns, and developing and maintaining site rapport and relationships.
- You will need to possess excellent organizational and communication skills and have a passion for providing instruction and feedback that allows our students to apply skills in a safe and patient-centered way.
- You must have the ability to travel to clinical sites in Edmonton and surrounding area.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- A Practical Nurse Diploma plus a Bachelor’s Degree in a related healthcare field or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
- At least 5 years of clinical nursing or nursing education experience (or the equivalent in part-time experience).
- CRNA or CLPNA registration.
- Current BLS.
- Previous formal or informal teaching experience is an asset.

- Ability to develop different classroom strategies to keep learners engaged.
- Strong oral communication and writing skills.
- Passionate about Nursing and teaching technical skills to individuals interested in joining the Health Care industry.
SALARY: Reflective upon what you bring, AKA your education and experience. This is a Faculty role therefore the pay range is quite large, the Faculty Association agreement Appendix A outlines how pay is determined. This is a Term position until June 30, 2025 with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
