The Colbourne Institute for Inclusive Leadership (CIIL) empowers Western Canadian organizations to develop and maintain equitable and inclusive environments. Our focus is on providing support and training to organizations that is driven by research and data. We’re searching for an individual who will join the CIIL as a Partnership and Innovation lead. Reporting to the Institute Director, the successful candidates will thrive in showcasing the values of the CIIL of starting small and thinking big as they focus on growing the number of contracts, pursuing government funded project opportunities and growing our community partnerships in research.
We’re seeking a candidate with initiative and natural relationship building skills to identify and meet with prospective clients and identify opportunities for funding in various industries and business sectors. While ensuring quality, you will also explore opportunities to sustain existing projects and relationships by providing consultative and new services, developing projects or refer them to other areas of the college so their needs can be met. Your keen eye for detail and research acumen will be put to good use as you prepare project proposals, budgets, and contracts for the college.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
In partnership with the Institute Director, this position will:

Secure new contracts and clients for the CIIL. This involves meeting with potential clients, outlining our service areas and following up as needed. Also includes attending industry and networking events.

Manage partnerships and clients. This includes regularly meeting with employers, community organizations, business and industry, and members of government to expose them to the services offered by CIIL, in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion training as well as research services and supports.

With support from a business development officer, develop a budget to go along with new proposals.

Work with the project team to identify funding opportunities and write project proposals to increase our research activities and support in curating new resources that will advance the CIIL’s and NorQuest’s strategic goals.

Synthesize information received from prospective clients, contributors, and existing published research literature and create solution-based proposals.

Respond to requests for research consultations and services that are often ambiguous in nature.

Perform quality assurance with clients and funders prior to, during, and after research events, activities, or projects.

Liaise with external stakeholders, networks, and service providers to collect existing data and consider ways to leverage the information for further projects.

Work with clients to understand their needs and demonstrate the value of research and how it might support their work.

Regularly scan existing literature on best practices with regards to EDI training in the industry.
WHAT YOU BRING
-
Bachelors Degree in related field (Social Sciences, Humanities, Business, Education)

3-5 years in managing external client relationships
-
Experience in fostering new relationship with stakeholders and businesses.

Ability to respond to inquiries and requests with precision in alignment with our services.

Knowledge of e-learning technologies and best practices in EDI training.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to translate research concept into plain language and work collaboratively with a team.

Intermediate computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and data management software.

Excellent writing skills.
-
1-2 years in sales and marketing practices.

Training (either degree or certificate) in Equity, Diversity and inclusion related field would be an asset.

Experience in developing marketing plans or social media strategy would be an asset.

SALARY: $89,708 - $112,166 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs. Please include a cover letter in your application.
