NorQuesters are difference makers and we are seeking an individual who can find ways forward, be dependable, and work in a diverse multi-faceted environment to join our Division of Enrollments and Communications as Scheduling Technician.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
- Procedures, Key Principles and corresponding Scheduling Rules.
- Maintain knowledge and expertise as an advanced user of the InfoSilem Suite Software and People Soft Curriculum Management module.
- Manage data and system configuration in preparation for the annual Data Collection Utility (DCU) process.
- Provide data and information from all teaching areas to effectively advise and guide Faculties for their preparation of the annual timetabling cycle. This may include timelines, processes, and prior year data for their review.
- Generate conflict free academic and exam schedules using integrated software processes with InfoSilem and PeopleSoft.
- Analyze change requests from program areas while anticipating potential challenges, issues or trends. Provide advice and expertise on the impacts of the changes and make decisions whether to move forward with a request.
- Process schedule changes in InfoSilem and review data to ensure that only the anticipated impacts have occurred. Identify and troubleshoot any issues before or as they occur.
- Perform quality assurance reviews on academic scheduling data via InfoSilem and PeopleSoft reports, validity checks and queries to ensure readiness and accuracy of the data transfer.
- Work collaboratively with the Functional Analyst to action the upload of the academic schedule from InfoSilem to PeopleSoft, as well as activate and audit the sections in preparation for opening of enrolment.
- Work collaboratively with Functional Analyst, Curriculum Administrator and Faculties to maintain and audit course information in PeopleSoft related to fees, budget codes and GL information.
- Manipulate fee criteria on applicable course sections which require different fees than the auto generated assessment (GED, CHEX, and others as needed)
- Organize class section information from PeopleSoft into loading sheets as reference for the enrollment and advising units.
- Liaise with InfoSilem support team as necessary for troubleshooting scheduling technical matters.
- Update/maintain inventory of rooms and room characteristics in InfoSilem as reported by Facilities & E&IT.
WHAT YOU BRING :
Minimum 3 years experience in a related role in a post-secondary institution, including:
- Use of a scheduling software (Infosilem preferred).
- Use of a student information system (PeopleSoft preferred).
- Strong analytical and organization skills.
- Ability to plan, and effectively manage a high volume of work with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail within tight deadlines.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills (oral, written and listening skills).
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel).

SALARY: $1,890 to $2,456 bi-weekly, reflective upon what you bring. AKA your education and experience. This is a term position until June 27, 2025.
