Are you a natural storyteller and people-person? Can you walk into a room and confidently connect with people you’ve never met? We’re looking for a dynamic Student Recruiter who excels at building relationships, engaging audiences, and using sales strategies to attract domestic prospective students. Your understanding of Alberta's high school to post-secondary pathways will be key in guiding students to NorQuest College.
Reporting to the Manager, Student Recruitment, you’ll play a vital role in supporting enrolment targets by identifying, informing, and recruiting prospective students and their key influencers. You’ll engage with schools, communities, and agencies to promote NorQuest’s programs and services through presentations, events, and college tours.
This role requires empathy, adaptability, and a passion for helping others. You’ll listen to individual needs and connect students to meaningful academic opportunities at NorQuest College.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Plan and execute high school recruitment strategies; support outreach to communities, newcomers, and rural areas.
- Attend and represent NorQuest at recruitment events, including trade shows, career fairs, community gatherings, and high school presentations.
- Organize and participate in internal events like Open House, Fall and Spring Breakfasts, and campus tours.
- Lead individual and group information sessions to recruit prospective students.
- Support current NorQuest students in foundational programs as they transition to post-secondary pathways.
- Re-engage and convert prospects who have not completed their ApplyAlberta applications.
- Capture and nurture leads through FreshSales CRM, guiding them from interest to application.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external influencers: school counselors, teachers, government agents, community leaders, and industry partners to enhance awareness.
- Keep CRM contact lists current and well-managed.
- Respond to inquiries with accurate information about programs, services, admissions, and career outcomes through various communication channels.
- Collaborate with other institutions and participate in ELAA to align outreach and recruitment efforts.
- Build strong internal connections to stay informed on NorQuest’s offerings and support prospective students effectively.
- Understand and address cross-cultural factors impacting student success and access.
- Monitor labour market trends to inform recruitment strategies and student advising.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A university degree in a related field, or a diploma with 2+ years of experience in customer service, student recruitment, community support services, or sales.
- Confidence in public speaking and engaging diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with the Alberta post-secondary system and entrance requirements is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with CRM systems and social media platforms.
- A recent (within 30 days) clean criminal record check.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends; travel is required. A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are necessary.

SALARY: $54,028 - $70,193 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
