NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone who can lead from where they are as a Team Lead, supporting our Student Supports Administrators.

 

Reporting to the Manager, Student Service Centre, the Team Lead is responsible for organizing and distributing workloads among staff to ensure timely and efficient processing within service standards. This includes managing work schedules to provide direction on daily tasks and staff assignments to front line, email, or telephone duties.

 

The Team Lead works closely with the Manager to review and communicate operational changes and create and manage a calendar of regularly scheduled team duties to ensure that staff are appropriately assigned to respond to front line questions and follow-up activities as workloads shift throughout the terms. The Team Lead is also responsible for maintaining reporting tools used for departmental tracking and making decisions regarding messaging provided to students.
 

 

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

 

  • Responsible for building and leading the Student Supports team to fulfill departmental mandate and contribute to the achievement of the college’s mission, including onboarding, supervising, training, evaluating, developing training plans, coaching, and timely communication.  
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of new staff.
  • Implement service standards and work schedules for unit activities.
  • Ensure the unit is using the PeopleSoft system appropriately; ensures data entry is timely and correct and student records are maintained according to policy.
  • Develops daily work plans for the Student Support team.
  • Maintains calendar of regularly scheduled team activities that feed into the work plan.
  • Provides first line of support for general college information and addresses stakeholder operational concerns especially those related to Office of the Registrar processes, and resolves or raise these issues as appropriate to other NorQuest Departments.
  • Contributes to an atmosphere of continuous improvement by identifying areas of concern, suggesting process changes, and testing new approaches.
  • Research cross-cultural issues that affect our student population to identify and remove barriers and improve the learner experience.
  • Provide input and support for relevant NorQuest College policies, procedures and standard practices.
  • Engage in college-wide collaboration to improve processes and the student experience.
  • Attend divisional leadership meetings, leadership meetings and various other meetings and events.

 

 

WHAT YOU BRING:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • A combination of education and directly related experience in a registrar role will be considered.
  • 1+ year experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience working with a student information system (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions preferred).

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership, experience and skills: demonstrated experience working with different levels of leadership to engage and influence positive outcomes.
  • Proven record of strong collaborative skills with other areas to find solutions.
  • Ability to plan and effectively manage a large volume of work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, research and problem-solving skills; experience with strategic planning and development
  • Cultural sensitivity and diplomacy skills.
  • Knowledge of FOIP legislation and records management.

 

SALARY: $61,635 - $80,033 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
